Facilitate, coordinate, and monitor the academic tutoring program.



Facilitate, coordinate, and monitor the evening academic programming for students.



Develops and delivers integrated, learning content in multiple modalities to include



computer assisted, small group, large group, and individual ensuring that provides for various kinds of learners (auditory, kinesthetic, etc.). Curriculum and learning activities will be rigorous and relevant.



Promotes an active learning environment that is a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to ensure maximum learning.



Utilizes the CIS system to tailor classroom instruction, identify resources and establish and monitor student learning benchmarks.



Follows accountability procedures and counsels students regarding the importance of class attendance.



Strives to achieve Center and departmental goals, and helps the Center meet targeted standards in terms of Performance Measurement Standards.



Conducts class in compliance with Policy and Requirements Handbook, Corporate



Standard Operating Procedures, Center Operating Procedures, and MI-PATH.



Ensures that all required materials and equipment are maintained, inventoried and being used correctly.



Maintains and secures classrooms, storage areas, materials and equipment.



Arranges classroom to facilitate learning, easy access to materials, student work folders, class information and supplies.

Develops, monitors and documents student learning goals that are specific to the student and informed by the student's abilities and goals. These are to be documented on the ESP.



Manages the classroom by moving about the room to tutor, coach, evaluate and assist each student as the need arises.



Provide tutoring as needed and requested to ensure that the department meets the necessary goals.



Guides and promotes safe work performance by developing safety systems, policies and procedures, communications and recognitions for subordinates in areas supervised.



Ensures that employability skills, attitudes and knowledge is practiced and integrated into all phases of career development and student life on Center.



Describe goals, performance expectations and standards, and articulate how their individual performance supports the admission, career preparation, career development and career transition of students.




A Bachelor Degree and current teaching license is required, preferably at the secondary/adult level with focus in mathematics. Some teaching/educational experience desirable. Advanced degree highly desirable. Experience with at risk or disadvantaged youth is highly preferred.



Effective verbal and written communication skills.  Effective organization skills.  Effective interpersonal skills.  Classroom instruction and curriculum development.  Ability to interpret data and analyze its use within educational programs.

A State Teacher's Certification is required.

A Valid Driver's License is required.
