GENERAL FUNCTIONS : Performs as an instructor in a regular vocational classroom setting presenting instruction in welding mechanics.  Promotes a positive and desired atmosphere within the classroom setting ensuring a maximal student learning environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor Degree in Vocational or Industrial Education, Building Technology, and three years experience in the field or two years experience as an instructor of vocational/industrial subjects.

EXPERIENCE: Six years or more of recent trade experience leading to a broad base of knowledge and skills in welding required. (Up to three years of trade experience may be waived for the successful completion of the National Occupational Competency Test.) Certification by passing tests according to standards published by the American Welding Society or Mechanical Engineers, Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code required.

Licenses or Certificates: Welding Vocational Teacher Certification required.
